Volleyball team continues season with sucessful tournament Jenna Freeman The womens varsity volleyball team has a 12-2 record and recently placed second in a tournament at Dublin Scioto Sept. 28. For a team that has never placed in Ohio Capital Conference standings before, the success is unprecedented. The Bears are currently placed second in the OCC. Senior co-captain Amanda Kolcun said the team is ranked 25th in the state, which is another first for this year's volleyball Bears. During the tournament the girls won their first two games against Delaware Hayes and Dublin Coffman. The team lost its third game against Dublin Scioto. Junior Kelsey Bruce said teamwork and commitment inspired the Bears' win against Delaware Hayes. "We all played well together and had great communication and motivation," Bruce said. "That's why we won." Kolcun said the varsity team is preparing for its second tour-nament round this week. The Bears have high expectations for their performance. "We all play great together," she said, "and we should do well in our upcoming second conference round." |
