The Upper Arlington Civic Association selects ten juniors from UA each year to be a Junior Director in the community.
On May 7, a ceremony was held to congratulate and introduce the students in the program. The students selected participate in each of the UACA’s events and receive a $1,000 scholarship.
UACA member Susan Aquilio said, “It’s a great opportunity to get out in the community to meet new people and make connections with residents of UA.”
The students who received the position for the 2019-2020 school year are MaeLing Bruns, Alexandra Criss, Nick Ferraro, Jen Gomez, Sydney Lape, Sonia Mustric, Macy Porterfield, Annie Reinke, Will Reynolds, Carolyn Stehle, Ellena Schildmeyer and Jackson Weeks.
The UACA is entirely funded by the citizens of UA, and are responsible for the Golden Apple Awards, Memorial Day Run, Labor-Neighbor Day, Christmas in the Park, Golden Bear Scare, Easter Egg Hunt and the 4th of July parade, fireworks, and event in the park.
