Among the new staff are social studies teacher Douglas Allen, special education teacher Paul Crabtree, business teacher Stephen Lewis, Spanish teacher Jessica Mealer, German teacher Tonya Wilder, chemistry teacher Elizabeth Single, and social studies teacher Matthew Williams.
“As we have been able to do in the past few years during a period of significant teacher retirements, I hope we will continue to move the district forward in a transition that is seamless to students and the community,” said Steve Phillips, personnel director of the Upper Arlington School District.
These new teachers attended an orientation during the first week of August to become more familiar with the UA learning environment. Phillips said the new faculty members represent a wide range of skills and experiences.
“We will have a diverse staff that has a good combination of UA experience and the addition of fresh perspectives from other places,” he said.
