Over the next year, a new hotel and restaurant are to be built on Lane Avenue, while new waterlines will also be laid underneath parts of the road. Residents are angered by the amount of traffic that are proposed to come down their road, and establishments in the Lane Avenue area have experienced a loss in business as a result of the difficulty it takes to get to them. In addition to the regular difficulties that come with construction, there have also been legal issues concerning the ability to sell alcohol at the new hotel and restaurant.
